• Serve as direct supervisor of all counselors and their CITs.
• Provide guidance and support for counselors in their work to promote inclusion and participation among campers.
• Mentor counselors and CITs as leaders and coach them for improvement, as needed.
• Serve as liaison to On-Site Director, providing detailed updates on the progress of camp programming, safety, and morale - reporting any incidents arising therein, in a timely manner.
• Assist in the coordination of camp-wide activities, offering support to programming leads, as needed.
• Exhibit high standards of behavior. Be an example to campers and other staff.
• Work with enthusiasm and creativity. Have a positive attitude toward all camp activities.
• Observe & participate, in a rotating manner, with cabin groups (male or female, as applicable) in mealtimes and cabin devotions.
• Make sure cabin groups are supervised at all times by their counselors & CITs.
• Assist in keeping camp clean and orderly. Be proactive in the curtailment of potentially destructive behavior.
• Actively participate in camp staff meetings.
• Must hold basic Catholic Christian values and live a lifestyle reflecting those values.
• Must recognize position as role model and refrain from actions/habits which diminish that role (i.e. drinking, smoking, illegal drug use, foul language, etc.).
• Must understand and like young people and enjoy the outdoors.
• Previous experience as a camp counselor (for this camp or other Catholic summer camp program) required.
• Must be at least 21years of age.
• Must successfully complete Diocesan Camp Staff Training.
