The role you will contribute:
Responsible for supervising the daily functions and activities within the environmental services (EVS) department. This position ensures standards of cleanliness are met for the hospital and adjacent facilities. Tasks include promoting teamwork to ensure work is completed, maintaining an efficient and safe working environment, and supervising EVS staff. This position also assumes responsibility for the operation of the EVS department during day, evening, or night shifts.

· Manages clean linen distribution and maintains tracking and accountability of linen supplies.
· Ensures all equipment and supplies are kept clean and in working condition.
· Supervises staff by assigning work, training, hiring, evaluating performance, administering progressive discipline, and recommending termination as appropriate.
· Creates and reviews schedules, approving scheduling requests to ensure adequate coverage.
· Regularly surveys departmental procedures for adherence to acceptable cleaning practices, ensuring compliance with State/Federal regulations and standards.
· Resolves patient satisfaction concerns in a timely manner.
· Monitors and replenishes supplies as needed.
· Communicates effectively with team members and supervisors.
· Reviews and updates policies and procedures to ensure compliance with JCAHO, Federal, State, and Local regulations and standards.
· Manages reporting logs in the department, including Attendance, Hazardous Materials Monthly inspections, and Hazardous Books compliance.
· Coordinates the ATP-GEL process and compliance, reporting inspections to leadership to ensure staff notification and training, if applicable.
· Other duties as assigned.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
1+ Work Experience Required
Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition
Able to communicate in English
Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Preferred Qualifications:
High School Grad or Equiv Preferred
Certified Healthcare Environmental Service Professional (CHESP) Preferred
