    Job Description

    AECOM is actively seeking to add an Environmental Scientist to support our Ft. Lauderdale and/or Coral Gables, Florida offices. Our business focuses primarily on providing professional and technical services in engineering design, code consultation, and construction phase services for a wide variety of clients both in the private and public sectors. We execute large and complex engineering projects and provide a comprehensive range of professional planning and design, systems engineering and technical assistance, program and construction management, and operations and maintenance services.

    This position is expected to begin as soon as possible.

    The Entry-Level Environmental Scientist will support soil and groundwater investigations on remediation projects. The ideal candidate will be willing and able to learn new skills and methods on challenging field and office assignments in a collaborative team environment.

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    Conducting environmental field work, including collecting soil, groundwater, and remediation system data, groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging and oversight of subcontractors.

    Produce accurate and complete documentation of operation, inspections and compliance

    Field document preparation, field data collection, processing and interpretation.

    Supporting office tasks, including data analysis and report preparation.

    Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance

    Travel to project locations including driving and overnight stays.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    Bachelors in Environmental Science or related field.

    Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    HAZWOPER 40-Hour Training

    General knowledge of the environmental sciences and sampling practices.

    Excellent oral and written communication skills

    Experience using Microsoft Office (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access).

    Experience with specialized software (EVS, GIS, and CADD).

    Relevant professional or intern experience.
