We are excited to look for a compassionate and pro-active person to oversee the maintenance and environmental services at the ElderCare of Bemidji campus, made up of Havenwood Care Center (nursing home), Tamarack Court (assisted living), Cedar Cottage (assisted living), and BirchHaven Village (independent living).
This person would have the following qualities and skills:
Willingness to learn rules and regulations for maintenance in nursing homes and assisted living facilities
Ability to develop and implement new systems to manage preventative maintenance and changes in regulations
Skills to develop policies and procedures and update them as needed
Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, small engines, HVAC
Problem solving and critical thinking abilities
Experience with planning and delegation
Ability to manage/oversee maintenance and potentially housekeeping & laundry staff
Desire to mentor maintenance staff on job duties
Strong communication and organization skills
Duties include:
Coordinating maintenance of grounds (including obtaining contracts for snow removal and lawn care)
Ability to come in early/stay late to assist with snow removal
Facilitating projects across campus (4 buildings)
Managing budget and providing recommendations to Administration for ways to save money
Ensuring compliance for annual
Creating staffing schedules and managing daily tasks to be completed by employees
Maintaining SDS book for all departments
Overseeing AWARE/Safety Program
Conducting emergency preparedness drills
Following-up on assigned tasks to ensure satisfactory completion
Working with vendors to coordinate maintenance and emergency repairs

Requirements
Boiler’s License (can provide education to get license, if needed)
Prior plant operations and management experience preferred
On-call
Salaried position
Core Hours: 7 am – 3:30 pm (some flexibility), Monday – Friday
