    Overview

    World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, seeks a Vice President for Asia, Wildlife Conservation.

    Responsibilities

    Provide strategic and operational leadership for wildlife and area-based conservation in Asia to create large-scale conservation initiatives and mobilize long-term financing.

    Oversee and develop projects, initiatives, and partnerships for impact on biodiversity conservation, including their integration and alignment with other WWF teams, country offices and external partners.

    Lead a team to design and close major blended finance deals for conservation area networks and other priorities.

    Define the impact and results that need to be achieved in biodiversity conservation, protected & conservation areas, species protection and recovery, conservation finance and community-based conservation.

    Represent WWF in key external events, meetings and fora. Advise the SVP and WWF leadership on relevant issues, opportunities, and needs.

    Provide intellectual, programmatic and operational leadership on wildlife priorities in Asia, including WWF’s global tiger conservation and landscape initiatives.

    Oversee planning, budgeting, reporting, deliverables, program and project monitoring and performance to ensure maximum impact.

    Oversee conservation programs for the Eastern Himalayas and Greater Mekong, leading integrated teams and experts to optimize impact, partner engagement and resource mobilization.

    Lead the development and implementation of multi-million-dollar funding packages, blending philanthropic, public sector and multilateral funding streams.

    Work with WWF’s conservation finance teams to develop innovative conservation finance models (e.g., PFPs, sustainability linked bonds, investment funds).

    Represent WWF-US on initiatives and partnerships, including with donors, to secure and scale needed resources and commitments.

    Stay abreast of developments in relevant regional and global fora, including the Convention on Biological Diversity, Sustainable Development Goals and UNFCCC, in relation to area-based and wildlife conservation, and where appropriate, takes part in national, regional and global forums on area-based conservation, contributing to cutting-edge thinking.

    Salary Range: $152,298.00 - $220,600.

    Qualifications

    Master’s Degree in Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management or related field.

    Five years of senior management experience developing and managing complex wildlife and natural resource projects in Asia for large international conservation organization at the landscape or larger scale.

    Experience developing long-term conservation funding and developing partnerships with international conservation organizations and agencies, governments, funders, and stakeholders.

    Field experience working on tiger conservation in Asia is required.

    Travel to Asia for project monitoring - 15%.
