CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Summer Camp Manager (SCM) will work closely with the Adventures Leadership team to support with overall camp planning, staff management, administration, safety and compliance, parent communication, behavioral-related support, and more. The SCM will manage, mentor, and provide guidance to camp coaches, team leads, and campers across both Day Camp and Residential Camp programming. The SCM is a core member of the summer leadership team and supports with on-call shifts throughout the summer. The SCM should have advanced experience with working with individuals that have autism and/or other differences as well as previous leadership experience. The SCM will support with preparations leading up to camp start and clean up after camp has finished. The SCM will support with staff training. An ideal candidate for this role is dynamic, willing to learn, and a strong leader.
TASKS:
- Oversee and ensure well-being of summer staff and campers
Work closely with campers who have challenging behaviors
- Provide behavioral support and guidance to camp coaches and team leads when behaviors arise
- Assist coaches with hygiene such as toileting, bathing, and everyday personal care
Address and resolve conflicts among staff, campers, or parents
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and sanitation regulations
Serve as a role model and mentor to young professionals in the adaptive field
- Provide on-call support which includes one overnight shift during the work week and some weekends
Administer first aid when necessary Work 1:1 with campers when more support is deemed necessary
IN ADDITION:
Must be 21 or over and have legal working status Must maintain a valid driver’s license and excellent driving record Must have adaptive summer camp experience Must have experience working with aggressive behaviors and assisting with ADLs (activities of daily living such as toileting, personal hygiene, etc.)
Must have a clean background check with no felonies or flags Must provide a current CPR/First Aid certification. High school diploma required Applicants are required to have and use their own phone for work duties Basic computer skills (MS Office, email, social media) Must be able to lift and move heavy objects (up to 25 pounds)
