JOB DESCRIPTION FORM:
Position Title: SMCC Camp Counselor
- Reports to: Camp Director

Basic Purpose Summarize the highlights of the position in terms of basic purpose and what it is supposed to accomplish.
- Create a welcoming and inviting summer camp environment for children of all backgrounds, building positive and respectful relationships with the campers, and modeling the love of Christ with fellow counselors and campers.

- Provide encouragement, guidance and emotional support to campers
- Support campers in developing social skills and peer relationships
- Help maintain clean organized activity and camp space
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a few key metrics

- Prepare materials and set up activities ahead of time when needed
- Lead and participate in daily camp activities
- Follow daily schedule and assist with transitions
- Always supervise campers
- Communicate effectively with fellow counselors and camp directors
- Report injuries, incidents, or concerns,
Other Responsibilities
- Help chaperone children during off-campus field trips
- Help facilitate the check-in/drop-off period in the morning and the pick-up time in the afternoon

Education & Experience:
What type and level of training, experience and/or certifications are required to perform this job
- Completed 11th grade or higher (preferred)
- Experience in working with Children (Kindergarten through Fifth Grade) such as Bible Study, teaching, etc. (preferred but not required)
