    We are looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to join us in keeping our operations up and running.

    SUMMARY:

    • Performs a wide range of maintenance and repair operations necessary to keep the facility, equipment, machinery, and tools in good operating condition. Will diagnose problems and work in many varied and diversified capacities required in general maintenance, overhaul, and repair of plant equipment, processes and facilities.

    SCHEDULE:

    Swing Shift: Monday - Thursday, 3:30 pm - 1:30 am

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    • Performs mechanical and electrical repairs on hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, piping, vacuum and other equipment and systems throughout the facility.
    • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance.
    • Performs preventative maintenance on machinery according to schedule.
    • Diagnose problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
    • Lubricates and cleans parts and machinery.
    • Maintain plant equipment and maintenance records to meet company and OSHA’s safety and quality compliance standards
    • Performs minor woodwork, painting and other facility maintenance.
    • Comply with all standard safety practices, safety rules, and all Company rules and policies.
    • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This position will not have any supervisory responsibilities.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Excellent communications skills
    • Must have the ability to trouble shoot through past experience and industry knowledge.
    • Technical understanding and comprehension of mechanical principles.
    • Must have the ability to operate a variety of hand tools and other mechanical equipment.
    • Must have a general mechanic’s tool box (small roll-away at minimum). Buck Knives will provide any specialized tools required for the work being performed.
    • Must possess a sense of urgency, accountability, and professionalism.
    • Able to work well independently and as a team.
    • Must be self-starter able to multi-task and prioritize workload.
    • Able to use various precision measuring devices to check values and dimensions against allowable tolerances.
    • Able to read prints, schematics, diagrams, and drawings accurately.
    • Must have a basic knowledge of electrical equipment and the ability to perform minor electrical maintenance.
    • Must have a working knowledge of welding, brazing, cutting and soldering.
    • Must have a good working knowledge of hydraulic systems.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    • Industrial Mechanic/Millwright Technical Certificate or equivalent combination of experience & education.
    • 1 or more years’ maintenance mechanic experience within a manufacturing environment.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
