POSITION SUMMARY:
The St. Agatha School’s childcare Program is hiring a Leader for its summer camp which runs for 8 weeks from June - August. Summer camp hours are 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday. This is a full time, 40 hours a week position.
PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for assisting the Program Director in planning and implementing camp activities and schedules.
· Assists the director in creating a positive, fun and interactive camp environment.
· Responsible for the care and safety of all children in their care
· Provides leadership and supervision to the camp counselors and provides guidance and feedback. Encourages staff to engage and initiate ideas and activities.
· Oversees camp in the absence of the Director.
· Responsible for following and ensuring counselors and participants follow program policies.
· Communicates with parents, answering questions and providing reports and feedback about campers.
· Lead and engage campers while serving as a role model
· Organize and monitor indoor and outdoor play activities.
· Accompany children to the pool and field trips.
· Provide communication regarding children to Program Director and Parents.
· Complete and maintain required paperwork and attendance records.
· Follow established policies and procedures including acceptable disciplinary policies.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
· High School diploma/equivalent
· Previous childcare experience preferred
· Demonstrates enthusiasm and positive energy
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively with co-workers
· Must have initiative, discretion and good judgment
· Satisfactory FBI and BCI background checks · Completion of Virtus Protecting God's Children training
