The Summer Camp Director plays a key leadership role in creating a safe, engaging, and memorable summer experience for children. This position oversees daily operations at an assigned camp site, leads and supports seasonal staff, ensures high-quality programming, and builds positive relationships with participants and families. Summary of Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations of a summer camp site to ensure smooth, safe, and high-quality programming
- Design and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities and experiences
- Train, supervise, guide, and evaluate camp staff and volunteers
- Maintain a safe camp environment by enforcing safety policies and emergency procedures
- Conduct routine inspections and proactively address hazards
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians, staff, and supervisors
- Prepare schedules, reports, payroll information, newsletters, and required documentation
- Manage program supplies, equipment, and budget responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records including attendance, incident reports, and participant files

Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age, 21 preferred Previous leadership experience in youth programs, camps, or related settings. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, participants, parents, and the public. Strong leadership and communication skills. Excellent organizational and planning skills.
Ability to adapt to changing needs and respond appropriately to unexpected situations. Commitment to participant safety and well-being, with a strong understanding of child development and best practices.
