PRIMARY DUTY:
- Provide complex clerical and administrative support for various day to day matters, projects and programs. Complete customer service activities, prepare correspondence, reports, meeting minutes, agenda items, public information material, handle record retention, database management, and assist with open records requests. Responsible for city-wide volunteer management and coordination. Position is also responsible for various marketing areas within the department including electronic and print media activities, assisting with marketing campaigns; proofreading and creating social media posts; assisting with designing and writing monthly external newsletters, and graphic design work.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent required Bachelor's Degree in business, communications, public affairs, public administration, parks and recreation or related field preferred One year of related work experience with a strong emphasis on communications, writing skills, or special events preferred 1 year in an office environment or administrative support role preferred
A combination of education, experience and training that provides the necessary knowledge will be considered
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Valid Texas Driver's License with a good driving record required. Eligible to acquire and maintain a Notary Public authorization.
