Job Description
Position Function - Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor, responsible for managing the coordination, monitoring and instruction of the summer day camp programs (activities, events and athletics). This is a seasonal, part time position from May 18, 2026 – August 15, 2026. Working hours are Monday – Friday, 6:30am – 6:30pm, flexible scheduling available. Benefits include a free membership to The Keller Pointe while employed.
Essential Duties% of Performance
- Provides high-quality educational and recreational programming by leading, supporting, and mentoring camp counselors. Coordinates daily camp operations, including opening, preparing, and securing the facility. Supervises and guides counselors to ensure they are ffectively supporting camper safety, development, skill-building, and overall well-being. Fosters a positive and professional team environment, offering training, feedback, and ongoing support to staff. Assists counselors in creating a welcoming atmosphere for campers and families, while delivering positive and enthusiastic customer service to all members and guests.25%
Properly clean recreation areas and maintain all games and supplies. Effectively communicate with children, parents/guardians, Summer Camp Counselors, and all full-time staff. Supervise camp participants and ensure their safety and well-being. Organize and lead various small and large group activities. 25%
- Communicates with parents regarding incidents, sickness, or disciplinary issues. Maintain incident and attendance logs as well as prepare snacks and coordinate purchased lunches. Manage the smooth flow of activities during camp and manage Summer Camp Counselors' attendance and shift coverage.20%
Attend all scheduled employee meetings. Supervise children properly and respond immediately during emergencies, including administering first aid as necessary. Mediates any campers' disputes. Maintains constant surveillance of the pool.15%

Duties may also require prolonged periods of standing, walking and reaching with hands and arms.Requirements/Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesHigh School diploma or equivalent certification. Some related work experience supervising children preferred, but not required.Must be 18 years of age, possess a valid driver's license.Prior summer camp counseling experience preferred.Minimum of one year of peer supervisory experience preferred.Current lnfant/Child/Adult CPR and First Aid with AED certification from Jeff Ellis & Associates, American Red Cross, or American Heart Association required or ability to obtain upon employment offer.Must have American Red Cross Water Safety for Caregivers Certification or ability to pass the American Red Cross Water Safety for Caregivers course within 30 days of hire or the next available certification period. Must complete the Red Cross Caregiver Swim Test upon hire, requiring the ability to swim 25 meters adequately, tread water for a minute, and climb out of the pool without using a ladder.Basic computer and phone skills, ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions, independent problem solving, and ability to connect with a variety of people.Work requires the ability to maintain a positive atmosphere, and if necessary, use positive disciplinary techniques.Work requires the ability to handle a range of children from 6 years - 12 years old.Work requires the ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos.Work requires the ability to demonstrate professional public relations skills, effective interpersonal skills and ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.Must pass all post offer pre-employment processes and/or procedures, to include but not limited to Drug Screen, Physical Examination, and applicable Background Checks.
