Job Summary The City of St. Peters is seeking a Lead Camp Counselor to support the smooth and efficient operation of our summer camp programs. This role combines hands-on supervision, activity coordination, and guidance for staff and campers to create a safe, fun, and engaging experience for all participants.
Normal Shift: 7am to 6:30pm Monday - Friday
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and engage with campers in a safe, fun, and structured environment.
- Assist with planning and implementing daily camp activities, games, and special events.
- Support camp staff in resolving conflicts or challenges among campers, ensuring positive outcomes.
- Communicate clearly with campers, parents, and staff regarding schedules, procedures, and program expectations.
- Monitor and maintain camp facilities, equipment, and supplies to ensure safety and cleanliness.
- Contribute to developing and improving procedures to enhance the efficiency and quality of Rec-Plex summer camp programs.
Operate equipment as needed to support camp activities and events.
- Perform other duties as assigned, adhering to City safety standards.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker. Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Must be able to successfully complete a lifeguard certification course, if assigned to aquatics. Desired Qualifications First Aid and CPR/AED certification. Excellent customer service skills.
