Summer Camp Literacy Specialist

Looking for a summer job or summer internship that will give you experience for your next step as a teacher or social worker?  Working at camp will give you the hands on experience you need to manage a diverse group of children, develop creative activities and lessons, and grow your understanding of young people.

Kateri Day Camp provides over 200 children, ages 5-13, a safe and wholesome summer camp experience. Daily activities include swim lessons, hikes, nature games, sports, arts & crafts, literacy, science, and other special events.

Kateri Day Camp is seeking a Summer Camp Literacy Specialist – Responsible for implementing an enrichment literacy programs including reading and writing lessons/ activities for campers ages 5-13. Must be enthusiastic, able to engage campers in learning enrichment, and hold a NJ Teacher or Reading Specialist certification.

Qualifications:

• Must have a sincere desire to work with children.
• Must be able to work entire summer and attend mandatory trainings.
• Previous experience working with children preferred.
• Must be hardworking, diligent, energetic, respectful and responsible.
• Must love being outdoors.

2022 Camp dates: June 22- August 7 (closed July 4th), Monday-Friday from 8:00-3:30.

Mandatory training dates: June 13-June 20th.
