    Job Duties:

    • Support, plan, implement, and track restoration projects; Lead wildlife field surveys Make wildlife management recommendations Develop protocols, ensure data quality and data storage, analyze and report on findings Conduct/oversee rare plant surveys and other vegetation monitoring efforts Data management and analysis.

    • Create presentations to support items in the Integrated Natural Resources Management Plan; Support the development of monthly and quarterly reports to the CSU-CEMML Project Manager/Principal Investigator.

    Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet CSU standards for driving throughout the course of employment. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States by proposed start date. CEMML will not provide visa sponsorship for this position. Must be able to comply with all applicable regulations to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).

    Required at a minimum to complete a NACI/SF85 and successfully pass a federal background check to remain eligible for employment by CSU. Minimum

    Bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology, restoration ecology, habitat management, or a closely related field plus a minimum of two years of

    experience:

    in the field OR a related master’s degree.

    Experience:

    in field biology (terrestrial and/or aquatic wildlife issues, including species biology, species habitat

    Experience:

    • performing wildlife surveys with the flora and fauna of central/northern California or nearby areas.

    • supporting habitat restoration efforts in California or nearby areas.

    writing and reviewing survey memos and technical reports.

    with ArcGIS/ArcPro including collecting spatial data in the field and converting to a standardized GIS format, as well as creating maps and figures.

    regarding environmental protections (e.g., Sikes Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, Migratory Bird Treaty Act, NEPA, etc.). Ability to work in harsh environments (temperatures > 100 degrees in the summer and near-freezing temperatures in the winter), walk long distances on uneven ground.     Background in at least one area for the following: herpetology, invertebrate zoology, entomology, mammalogy, botany, and/or bat survey work. Familiar with vernal pools and fairy shrimp. Knowledge of and

    with military Integrated Natural Resource Management Plans (INRMP).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    A minimum of five years’ post-degree work

    verifying and delineating wetlands using USACE data sheets.

    preparing ESA section 7 consultations for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and National Marine Fisheries Service.

    preparing/supporting/executing Integrated Natural Resources Management Plans on installations.

    • identifying and implementing Best Management Practices (BMP) to avoid impacts to natural resources and to comply with environmental regulations.
