Job Description
Concord Academy Summer Camp is looking for a reliable, proactive, and energetic individual to ensure the smooth logistical flow of our summer programs. The ideal candidate for this position is someone who thrives behind the scenes and possesses the adaptability to pivot between administrative tasks and hands-on facility needs. Candidate must be available to work the majority of our 8-week season as well as some pre- and post-camp work. This is a full-time seasonal position.
Minimum Qualifications
- Desire and ability to work with children and adults in a busy camp setting
- Possess excellent character, integrity, adaptability, patience, self-control, enthusiasm, and sense of humor
- High level of responsibility and accountability
- Ability to accept guidance and supervision
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to identify a need and address it without being asked
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record
- Must pass a MA State-run background check, including a CORI and SORI
Responsible to: Director & Assistant Director of Summer Programs
General Responsibility
To facilitate the daily logistical success of the program by maintaining high standards for campus safety, organization, and operational efficiency.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Assist with pre-camp preparations, including the organization of staff training spaces, administrative offices, and seasonal storage units
- Manage the daily set-up and breakdown of program equipment, including (e.g., camp misting station/hydration stations), drop-off/pick-up signage, and traffic safety cones
- Maintain the visual appeal and organization of the campus by monitoring for litter and managing waste receptacles throughout the day
- Ensure all program signage is clearly visible and properly placed to facilitate smooth flow for families
- Oversee the daily operation of hydration stations, including morning set-up, regular ice replenishment, and evening shut-down
- Monitor and maintain the inventory of the snack closet to ensure supplies are fully stocked and organized for program needs
- Assist with the management of traffic flow during the daily camper drop-off and pick-up process
- Oversee lunchroom environment to ensure safe, efficient, and clean experience for all campers.
- Manage “Lost and Found” system, keeping items organized
- Assist with additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director or Assistant Director of Summer Programs
Essential Functions:
- Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards
- Occasional lifting, bending, and climbing stairs
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40-50 lbs
- Ability to work comfortably in outdoor conditions, including rain, heat, and humidity
Job Requirements:
- Available 8:00am-4:30pm Monday – Friday
- Submit all required paperwork on time
- Attend all staff trainings and orientation
Dates of Employment:
Pre- and post-camp: Dates TBD
Staff Training: June 15 – 18 and June 20, 2026
Summer Camp: June 22 – August 14, 2026
Camp Clean-up: August 15, 2026
Salary Range: $16/hr - $20/hr based on experience
