Job Summary
- Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Human Resources leads and manages the daily operations of Fun Spot America Theme Parks’ Human Resources department. This role ensures consistent implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs across all park locations while maintaining legal and regulatory compliance. The Director supports organizational goals by overseeing HR operations, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and talent management. This is a full-time, salaried (exempt) position based on a 45-hour average workweek. Actual hours may vary based on business needs. Exempt team members are expected to fulfill their responsibilities regardless of time required.

Department: Human Resources
- Reports to: CFO
Pay Range: $75,000 - $90,000 Location: Orlando Travel: (10% or less out of state) Orlando/Kissimmee/Atlanta Availability requirements: Fully available, including occasional weekend work Work Status: Exempt full-time Salaried 45 hours weekly
Key Objectives
- Ensure consistent HR operations and support across all Fun Spot park locations.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
Strengthen programs that promote a safe, engaged, and high-performing work environment.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
HR Operations & Leadership
- Oversee the daily workflow and performance of the HR department.
- Ensure consistent application of HR processes, policies, and practices across park locations.
- Support leadership and managers in interpreting and applying HR policies and procedures.
Talent Management
- Support recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training of HR staff and other roles as needed.
- Assist managers with performance reviews, coaching, and development processes.
Employee Relations
- Provide guidance on employee relations matters, conflict resolution, and corrective
actions.
- Review, but not solely approve, termination recommendations in coordination with departmental leadership.
- Ensure consistent documentation and adherence to legal standards.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Maintain compliance with wage and hour laws, EEO regulations, drug-free workplace programs, and employment law requirements.
- Manage HR-related audits including I-9, minimum wage, and compliance checks.
- Oversee FMLA and leave administration processes.
- Coordinate EEOC, OSHA, and similar filings in partnership with leadership.
Benefits, Compensation & Administration
- Manage the annual open enrollment process, ensuring accurate benefits communication and administration.
- Support administration of the self-insurance benefits plan and cafeteria 125-plan, ensuring proper documentation and communication.
- Coordinate with vendors for ACA monitoring, reporting, and WOTC processing.
- Maintain uniform ordering and vendor invoicing processes.
Workers’ Compensation & Safety
- Review workers’ compensation claims and coordinate light-duty assignments.
- Ensure OSHA logs are maintained and filed annually.
- Budget & Reporting
- Prepare the HR department budget and staffing plan for CFO approval.
- Track and report HR metrics and key indicators for departmental performance.
Other Responsibilities
- Participate in HR-related professional development, conferences, and networking events.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
At least 5 years of professional HR experience. Compliance with Fun Spot America Theme Park’s drug-free workplace policy, including consent to pre-employment drug testing and adherence to federal, state, and local laws regarding drug and alcohol use. Successfully undergo a comprehensive background check and motor vehicle check when applicable.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or related field. SHRM-CP. SHRM-SCP, or PHR/SPHR certification
Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. Visual Acuity
