    Ladera Oaks is a private member-owned swim, tennis and fitness club nestled on four creek-side acres in the beautiful Portola Valley foothills. The Club offers high quality recreation and competitive training programs in a relaxed friendly family atmosphere.

    Title: Summer Camp Counselor

    Job Description: Oversees the daily operations of camp. Plans and leads activities such as arts, crafts, sports, games, camping, and hobbies. Enforces camp rules and regulations and ensures safety in the recreational facilities.

    • Assists with summer camp planning and implementation.
    • Provide leadership, energy and camp spirit for campers, constantly assessing group dynamics and the needs of individual campers.
    • Able to organize kids and activities; energetically perform job duties.
    • Provide excellent customer service to families by communicating with them on a daily basis about their camper’s experience.
    • Employ accident prevention as the primary goal of workplace responsibility.
    • Respond to all injuries, incidents, and emergencies as directed by club policy.
    • Always approachable, visible and helpful to all club members
    • Demonstrate a positive concern for all campers, especially those who are not fully confident.
    • Establish, maintain and foster cooperative working relations with all campers and co-workers.
    • Arrive punctually for all scheduled shifts, meetings or activities
    • At the end of each shift, clean up all camps areas and properly store all equipment.
    • Attend all meetings and staff training.
    • Maintain a professional image with members, campers, and employees.
    • Interact positively with members and staff.
    • Greet each parent and camper with an enthusiastic smile and a warm welcome every day.
    • Learn the kid's name on the first day of camp and use first names as much as possible.
    • Make each camper feel welcomed, part of the community and special.
    • Provide a caring and nurturing environment for all campers.
    • Lead and support all campers to ensure everyone is having a good time.
    • Address conflict and/or behavior issues before the problem escalates.

    Schedule:

    • 8:30am-3:45pm
    • Monday to Friday

    Experience:

    • Childcare: 1 year (Required)

    License/Certification:

    • First Aid Certification (Preferred)
    • CPR Certification (Preferred)
