    POSITION: On-Call Camp Retreat Worker

    • REPORTS TO: Director of Facilities

    STATUS: On-Call

    JOB CLASSIFICATION: Associate I

    UNION ELIGIBLE: No

    WORK ARRANGEMENT: 100% onsite

    LOCATION: Napa, CA - EHC

    SALARY RANGE: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be eligible to operate company vehicles and be cleared through our Motor Vehicle Record Process, prior to official offer.
    • Possess a valid driver’s license.
    • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and ability to follow schedules that change with retreats/events.
    • Strong customer-service mindset: friendly, respectful communication with guests and coworkers.
    • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete checklists to standard.
    • Good teamwork and willingness to rotate between tasks/departments as needed.
    • Attention to detail and cleanliness; able to maintain high standards in public and back-of-house areas.
    • Ability to follow and adhere to all safety standards.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Camp Retreat Worker can be called upon for any of the following departmental assistance and help within camp or rental season.  Camp Retreat worker must first be capable to assist FOH and Kitchen before being on call for further departmental assistance.

    Front of House (FOH Associate)

    • Facilitating daily operations in the dining room.
    • Setting Tables/Bussing Tables

    * Cleaning Multiple Areas Including but not limited to:

    • Dining Tables and Chairs
    • Busing Station
    • Coffee Station
    • Serving Station
    • Assist the kitchen in plating and serving food whether it is family style, buffet, or plated meals.
    • Maintain a clean coffee station that is continuously stocked.
    • Maintain cleanliness throughout all Front-of-House (FOH) areas, including, emptying trash, removing all trash from dining room.

    * Assist kitchen staff with additional tasking if needed, which could include:

    • Cleaning surfaces
    • Mopping
    • Sweeping
    • Labeling and storing food
    • All other directions from the kitchen
    • Maintain cleaning and task logs
    • Uphold high standards for work areas and personal hygiene
    • Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as instructed and according to proper guidelines
    • Maintain excellent customer service and a positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.

    Dishwasher/Prep Cook

    • Operate dishwashing equipment to ensure thorough cleaning of dishes, glassware, and silverware
    • Wash pots, pans, kitchen utensils, and other equipment following proper procedures for cleanliness and sanitation
    • Maintain cleanliness throughout all Back-of-House (BOH) areas, including sweeping, emptying trash, mopping, deck brushing, and squeegeeing
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dishwashing area
    • Assist kitchen staff with food prep as directed
    • Maintain cleaning and temperature logs
    • Uphold high standards for work areas and personal hygiene
    • Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as instructed and according to proper guidelines
    • Maintain excellent customer service and a positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.

    Housekeeping/Janitorial

    • To follow all safety and security policies and procedures (OSHA).
    • Provide support for all company events relating to janitorial, event set up, etc.
    • The ability to provide exterior sweeping, and power washing maintenance to ensure proper upkeep of assets for all buildings.
    • Perform all Housekeeping tasks promptly and properly, including but not limited to: Making beds, emptying trash in rooms, replacing towels and linens, cleaning and sanitizing all surfaces, ensuring the entire room is reset and cleaned for the next guest to inhabit the space, taking note of maintenance items that need to be addressed and informing the maintenance team.
    • Plunging toilets.
    • Cleaning and sanitizing of Restroom floors, toilets, sinks, and showers.
    • Replace toilet paper in bathrooms as needed.
    • Collect all trash, including trash from dog refuse collection bins.
    • Maintain drinking water stations.

    Emptying, separating and cleaning trash bin on property.

    • Laundry (janitorial supplies)
    • Cleaning spills
    • Vacuuming, Sweeping and Mopping
    • Cleaning windows
    • High and low dusting
    • Cleaning bathrooms
    • Ability to occasionally perform computer-intensive work and operate standard office equipment.

    Guest Services

    • Greeting and assisting visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment.
    • Handle phone calls professionally, providing accurate information.
    • Support event execution, including room reservations, setups, and logistics.
    • Manage event-related items (food, rentals, laundry).
    • Coordinate with vendors and staff for smooth operations.
    • Oversee guest check-in/check-out and room inspections.
    • Manage reservations for rooms and overnight stays.
    • Maintain an updated booking calendar and prevent conflicts.
    • Coordinate room availability for student programs and events.
    • Keep the Welcome area organized and stocked with brochures.
    • Provide guests with local recommendations and information.
    • Build positive relationships with guests and staff, collecting feedback.
    • Support reception at other locations for seamless coverage.
    • Assist with event paperwork and interdepartmental documentation.
    • Be knowledgeable about emergency procedures.
    • Respond quickly to medical, security, or disaster situations, contacting the necessary authorities.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Maintenance/Landscaping

    • Ability to perform other related duties as assigned.
    • Fire Abatement

    * The Maintenance & Landscape Associate will place a strong focus on fire abatement duties as a high priority for this role. Those duties will include:

    • String line trimming.
    • Chipping, debris clean up.
    • Landscape
    • These duties include mowing, trimming, tree maintenance, and edging of landscape.
    • Thinning and cleaning flower beds and other grounds by hand or utilizing proper tools and equipment; and setting up, adjusting, repairing and maintenance of these tools and equipment.

    EXPECTATIONS FOR SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE:

    Front of House Associate

    • Dining room fully set 15 minutes prior to services
    • Respond to guests with 2 minutes of requestion with 90 percent positive feedback
    • Dining room fully cleaned to be rest with 45 mins after meal ends
    • Arrives on time 95 percent for each shift completes all assigned tasks and side work

    Dishwasher

    • Rack Turnover: Load, Wash, and Unload a FULL rack of dishes on pace of 3 mins per rack
    • Sink Washing: Hand washing items with proper 3 compartment sink protocols, maintaining a wash rate of 45 seconds per item

    * Sanitation Compliance:

    • Spotless Rate-Maintaining spotless rate of 95 percent of the time on all dishes washed the first time.
    • Cleaning-Complete all cleaning logs pertaining to role, to acceptable standards once a shift.
    • Soap Usage-Using correct soaps, and cleaning chemicals 100 percent of the time.
    • Storage-Put away 100 percent dishes cleaned on shift
    • Disposal-Check all garbage’s once an hour and empty if 75 percent full.

    Housekeeping

    • Minimum of 20 rooms stripped, cleaned and set each week.
    • Minimum of all public used restrooms to be stocked and cleaned on a daily basis.
    • Minimum of all large meeting buildings to be deep cleaned as a team every other week including, Mayacamas Hall, Forest Commons Hall, Kiva, Hogan, Hillside Commons, Bathhouse and Blindness Training Center.

    Guest Services

    • Create a welcoming environment in the Welcome Pavilion and Gathering House for all visitors.
    • Conduct pre-arrival inspection of all cabins and event spaces. Create unique VIP welcome amenities.
    • Maintain and update local, seasonal events and activities in Napa to give our guests reason to stay with us.

    Maintenance/Landscaping

    • Property readiness for guest arrival
    • Storm clean up (fallen branches and debris from around the property)
    • Event Preo touch-ups for rental groups
    • Mowing lawns to prevent fire danger around buildings

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to sit at a desk and perform computer-intensive work for long periods; operate standard office equipment and lift up to 50lbs.
    • Ability to perform physical labor relating to the role.
    • Ability to work at offsite location(s) independently as needed.
    • Ability to travel throughout the Greater Bay Area when required.
