Summer Camp Counselor (On-Site)

We offer an innovative summer day camp that strives to provide outstanding:

experiences to engage youth with nature: from arts and crafts to rafting and zip lining. In this position, you will be responsible for facilitating summer camp activities and holding the standard of our parks high to achieve our goal, of being the most dynamic park system in the nation. You will be trusted to:

• Supervise day camp groups and ensure and prioritize the safety and needs of

the campers.

• Implement camp curriculum and programs. Ensure the camp’s activities and

programs are run smoothly and efficiently. Assist summer camp staff with programs and activities.

• Serve as a positive leader for campers while providing a fun and enriching

experience for youth. Lead by example for campers and others in punctuality,:

sense of fair play, teamwork, conservation and respect for nature.

• Respect each camper for their individuality while creating a culture of

community, understanding and appreciation of nature through communication and collaboration.

• Communicate efficiently with appropriate parents or guardians.
• Keep recreation equipment such as rafts, kayaks, and climbing equipment clean

and operational.

• Operate camps in accordance with Texas Department of State Health Services and

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.

You qualify with:

• High School graduate
• Valid Texas driver’s license
• Must be at least 18 years of age

You are a great fit with:

• CPR/First Aid certification
• Experience working with children of all ages and abilities
• Experience facilitating summer camps and outdoor recreation activities such as

boating, camping, hiking or rafting/challenge courses

• Customer service experience and a professional attitude
