Founding Engineer - AI Learning Platform Location: New York City, NY (Hybrid) Employment Type: Full-time Compensation: $180K - $250K We are building the future of learning for the deskless and blue-collar workforce, fundamentally reshaping a $400 billion market by leveraging AI. Our platform transforms traditional training documents into fully gamified, interactive experiences powered by AI tutors.
We are seeking a Senior Staff Engineer with an absolute ownership mentality to join us as a technical leader in our NYC office. You will work directly with founders and other senior engineers who ship at incredible velocity.
Key Responsibilities:
Full-Stack Feature Ownership: Build and ship full-stack features at startup velocity, maintaining high quality standards that directly impact customer success. Technical Leadership: Drive architectural decisions and technical strategy, balancing speed with scalability as we grow from 0 to 1. AI Integration: Leverage AI tools to accelerate development and establish best practices for AI-assisted engineering across the team.
End-to-End Delivery: Own features from initial conception through design, implementation, and deployment, translating business needs into elegant technical solutions. Culture Shaping: Help shape the engineering culture and practices that will scale with our rapid team growth, operating in a high-autonomy, zero-bureaucracy environment.
- Mentorship: Recruit, mentor, and develop future engineering team members as we expand.
Experience: 5+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership. Full-Stack Proficiency: Strong full-stack capabilities, preferably with a back-end leaning. While our stack includes Go backend and TypeScript frontend, we value strong technical acumen over specific languages.
- Track Record: Proven ability to build and scale products that real users love.
Mindset: An "Ownership Mentality"—you treat the company like it's yours and thrive in fast-paced, high-ownership environments with excellent judgment and communication. Passion: Excited about leveraging AI tools to solve massive industry problems. Work Policy: Must be available for a Hybrid schedule requiring 3 days in-person per week in our New York City (Flatiron) office.
Visa Sponsorship is not available for this role. Competitive Salary: $180,000 - $250,000. Significant Equity: 1% - 3% ownership stake.
