POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for design, and delivery of enterprise-grade integration and middleware solutions on WSO2 APIM (API Manager) / WSO2 Bijira, WSO2 MI (Micro Integrator) / WSO2 Devant, and WSO2 Ballerina, operating on Kubernetes with strong Linux fundamentals. Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Data, Infrastructure, Cyber Security, Business stakeholders, third party vendor partners and other Internal stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable APIs and integrations aligned to Business objectives and Enterprise Standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define integration patterns (API, event, file/MFT, messaging), reference architectures, and reusable components on WSO2 MI/Devant and WSO2 APIM/Bijira.
- Build Ballerina services and mediation flows; configure APIs, products, and policies in WSO2 APIM; implement connectors, retries, and error handling in WSO2 MI/Devant.
Diagnose and resolve issues across gateway, runtime, network, and backend; implement observability, alerting, dashboards, and runbooks.
- Implement OAuth2/OIDC with Microsoft Entra, API key/HMAC, mTLS, JWKS caching; enforce data protection, secrets management (e.g., Key Vault/HashiCorp), and zero-trust principles.
- Design REST/gRPC/GraphQL APIs; govern versioning, throttling, quotas, and developer portal configuration in WSO2 APIM.
Align with Enterprise Architecture standards and define guardrails for performance, resiliency, security, and cost efficiency.
- Create Technology Impact Assessment (TIA) and design documents for integrations and API designs, review with internal stakeholders for approvals.
- Implement WAF/rate limiting, DLP/masking, logging, and SIEM integration; ensure compliance with SOC2, PCI, GLBA, and internal InfoSec controls.
- Evaluate and manage WSO2 vendor capabilities, conduct POCs, and coordinate with vendor support and engineering teams.
- Collaborate with business and product owners to align solutions to requirements and obtain approvals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field 12+ years’ experience in Software Engineering. 7+ years in API integration and middleware platforms. Banking experience preferred but not required. 7+ years of experience in WSO2: APIM (API Manager) / Bijira, MI (Micro Integrator) / Devant, Ballerina.
7+ years of experience in OS/Infra: Linux administration (networking, systemd, filesystems), container registries (ACR/ECR/GCR/Harbor) required for the middleware platform deployment and maintenance. 7+ years of experience in Identity: Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) for OAuth2/OIDC/SAML, JWKS, app registrations.
7+ years of experience in Messaging & Data: JMS/Kafka/RabbitMQ, MFT/SFTP, SQL/NoSQL. 5+ years of experience in Runtime/Platform: Kubernetes, containers, ingress/controllers, service mesh. 5+ years of experience in Observability & Security: LogicMonitor, Prometheus-Grafana, SecureWorks Taegis or equivalent SIEM, logs/metrics/traces.
5+ years of experience in Experience with event-driven architecture, schema governance, and data contracts.
Experience integrating SIEM and observability stacks, and implementing API productization or monetization in WSO2 APIM (nice to have).:
Banking/financial services experience with knowledge of regulatory controls (SOC2, PCI, GLBA) (nice to have). Knowledge of WSO2 hybrid deployments (cloud control plane + private data planes), blue/green and canary deployments, DR patterns (nice to have).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Any middleware platform vendor certification is preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is mainly performed in a normal office environment. Noise levels usually are moderate.

Pay Details:
$92,300 - $131,800 annually Please note, the base pay actually offered may vary based upon the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, education, geographic location, internal equity, and other applicable business and organizational needs.
This role is incentive eligible based upon company, business, and/or individual goal achievement and performance.
