    We’re looking for energetic, friendly, outdoor-loving leaders to join our team as Summer Day Camp Counselors, the heroes who bring the magic to life for our young members and guests.

    Seasonal Opportunity: May 25, 2026 - August 15, 2026 Shifts: Approximately 9:30am - 3:30pm (36 hours a week)

    *Limited availability housing. Candidates may inquire with the hiring manager. Housing is not guaranteed. Rent is $395/month with a refundable deposit of $150 if approved. At this time, we are not allowing new pets.

    Job Summary

    The Summer Day Camp Counselor is responsible for creating a fun, safe, and engaging experience for children participating in Rock Creek Cattle Company’s seasonal youth programs. This role supports the planning and delivery of daily activities, ensures the well being of all participants, and represents the Club with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a member focused approach.

    Counselors serve as role models, activity leaders, and safety monitors helping each child feel included, supported, and excited to return the next day.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide a warm, friendly, and energetic presence for children ages 5–12 throughout daily camp programming.
    • Lead and assist with scheduled activities such as crafts, games, nature walks, team challenges, and themed events.

    Actively supervise children at all times, ensuring safety, proper behavior, and a positive atmosphere.

    • Support planning, setup, teardown, and transitions between activities.
    • Communicate effectively and professionally with parents, guardians, and Club leadership.
    • Assist in maintaining accurate attendance records and any required documentation.
    • Ensure all equipment, supplies, and activity areas are kept clean, organized, and safe.

    Respond calmly and appropriately to injuries, conflicts, or unexpected situations; notify leadership immediately of incidents or concerns.

    • Follow established safety protocols, emergency procedures, and RCCC standards for guest/member service.
    • Participate in required training, meetings, and daily briefings.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    Required Skills and Abilities

    Enthusiastic, positive, and engaging attitude with a genuine interest in working with children. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to connect with children and adults. Ability to remain calm, patient, and solution oriented during busy or challenging moments. Strong leadership, teamwork, and organizational abilities.

    Ability to follow directions, support schedules, and maintain a high level of responsibility. Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities throughout the day. Must represent the Club in a friendly, professional, and respectful manner at all times. Must be comfortable supervising children in outdoor and indoor environments.

    Education and Experience:

    Previous experience working with children (camp, recreation programs, childcare, coaching, youth activities) strongly preferred.

    Physical Requirements

    Prolonged periods standing, walking, and actively engaging with children. Regular movement including but not limited to bending, reaching, lifting, running, and participating in activities. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and assist with activity setup and supplies. Ability to work in outdoor conditions including sun, heat, light rain, and varying terrain.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is active, dynamic, and includes both indoor and outdoor settings. Counselors will regularly work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain. Noise levels range from moderate to high due to children’s activities. Outdoor terrain may include grass, pathways, uneven surfaces, and activity fields. Counselors share supplies, activity spaces, and break areas with other seasonal operations teams.
