Position Overview
Position Overview:
To assist in completing assigned orders in the Made to Order (MTO) Department. This includes pulling, scanning and packing swatches for individual mill orders in the hard surface area. This process includes use of computers and Shaw systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
Retrieve POD labels from Lead or Supervisor. Sort by mill orders and by shipping criteria. Use appropriate cart to pull mill orders. Use POD labels to locate the bin that matches the bin in the information line, locate the correct swatch by using the remainder of the information in the information line.
Match the pull ticket with the branded label when required and then place label on the back of the hard surface product. Check for non-conformance issues when the hard surface product is pulled. Any non-conformance issues need to be placed in the appropriate hard surface hopper for that product type.
Scan appropriate product once all types are pulled. An order is considered complete when the quantity of lines scanned meets mill order quantity - number of lines scanned is less than the mill order quantity. Keep all shipment package id numbers together on buggy for packaging area. Package swatches in appropriate boxes and place on conveyor.
Position Requirements:
Must be able to lift 10-50 pounds. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to walk frequently throughout the day and squat. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to push a loaded buggy. Occasional pushing of pallets (using pallet jacks) requiring a maximum 40lb pushing force.
Must be able to force a pallet jack handle down to raise a pallet, approx. 17lb of force. Must be able to pull the trigger on a scan gun repeatedly throughout the shift. Continuous use of arms and hands. Must be capable of performing basic mathematics (For counting swatches).
Preferred Requirements:
Prior knowledge of Shaw selling styles and colors. Prior knowledge of ASAP Scheduling and Shaw Online Live. Must be able to meet production standards. Must be able to learn to read work orders to ensure proper labeling. You should be familiar with all labels.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to stand for up to 6-8 hours. Must be able to work in hot and cold environments. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to adhere to company policies and procedures.
