Job Summary: The Lifeguard position is responsible for the safety of guests in and out of the water. We will train you through the Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Certification process. Whether you are climbing to the top of our 7-story Kalani Towers or helping a child strap on a life jacket, you can Create Memories Worth
Repeating® amongst our 13 acres of water rides and attractions!
This position starts 5/2/2026 and ends 9/7/2026.
Must be at least 16 years of age
Qualifications:

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Continuously observing swimmers to ensure their safety.
- Rescues swimmers in danger of drowning and administers first aid.
- Maintains order in swimming areas by ensuring guests follow all posted
signage, park rules, and safety information.
- Maintains work area(s) for cleanliness; Ensures ride tubes and/or mats and
life jackets are available for guests’ use.
- Provides swimming instructions to guests to ensure a safe environment is
preserved.
- Adheres to daily rotation schedule.
- Responds promptly to customer needs.
- Responds to requests for service and assistance.
- Supports everyone's efforts to succeed; Recognizes accomplishments of other
team members
- Adapts to changes in the work environment
- Takes responsibility for own actions.
- Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; Completes tasks
on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.
- Observes safety and security procedures.
- Reports potentially unsafe conditions.
- Uses equipment and materials properly.
- Ensures guests follow posted safety guidelines.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must feel comfortable in the water
- Able to communicate efficiently
Certification and Licensure:
Must be able to obtain at a minimum, a Jeff Ellis & Associates Special
Facilities License. Pre-requisite skills for the training are as follows:
- Swim 200 yards using the front crawl (freestyle) or breaststroke without
stopping
- Tread water in a pool depth of 6 feet for two minutes without using your arms
or hands
- Retrieve a 10 lb. brick from 6 feet of water and swim underwater for 10 feet
Must be able to obtain the American Heart Association Basic Lifesaving Certification
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to

- The ability to lift and/or move 15 pounds frequently to 50 pounds maximum.
- The ability to stand and walk on uneven terrain, inclines, asphalt, and
concrete continuously.
- The ability to work in extreme weather frequently.
- The ability to frequently wear personal protective gear to include sunscreen,
hats, sunglasses, and appropriate footwear.
- The ability to remember locations, understand and carry out instructions
continuously.
- The ability to work at a rapid speed frequently.
Work Environment:
A Lifeguard works primarily outdoors at stationary posts or on rotations inside a water park environment, with occasional indoor tasks in office spaces or communal rooms. The role involves exposure to various weather conditions, uneven terrain, and moderate to high noise levels, often working independently.
Lifeguards use a variety of tools including whistles, radios, and hand gestures to communicate and ensure adherence to safety protocols. Work includes collaboration with teams and mentors, with a focus on ensuring safety in the guest experience.
