2026 Summer Camp Lifeguard

Description:

The Summer Camp Lifeguard is responsible for providing safe swimming conditions at the onsite pool, for children ages 6-13 at the summer camp. They will work alongside the lead lifeguard to always ensure the safety and well-being of the children and will be responsible for monitoring the swimming area and enforcing safety rules.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor the swimming area and enforce safety rules

Respond quickly and effectively to any emergency situations

• Assists the lead lifeguard in providing swimming instruction and guidance to children
• Assist in swimming assessment at the start of every week
• Assist supervision in locker room areas
• Ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times

Clean and maintain the swimming area

• Collaborate with other counselors and staff to ensure a fun and safe camp experience for the children
• Help prepare and go on field trips on Thursdays with the rest of the camp.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age Must have a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalent certification Must have reliable transportation Must be able to work at least until early August 2025 Lifeguard certification, preferred but not required We will pay for your certification if needed Strong swimming skills

Knowledge of lifeguarding techniques and best practices Good communication and leadership skills Passion for working with children and ensuring their safety Must be able to pass a background check
