Description:
- Assist with the development, operation and maintenance of wildlife management areas by complying with state noxious weed and boundary fence laws; managing vegetation for resources and recreation with emphasis on prescribed burning, haying and mechanical tree removal; negotiating conservation, haying and grazing leases; developing and maintaining access roads, parking lots and trails to facilitate public access; assessing wildlife population status and efficacy of habitat management.

- Provide technical assistance; give presentations to individuals and entities regarding wildlife habitat, hunting, fishing, trapping, regulations, biology and viewing opportunities.
Respond to wildlife depredation, disease control, animal nuisance complaints, and wildfires.

- Assist with NGPC integration planning/activities.
- Perform related work as required.

Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, fish or wildlife management or closely related field of biological science.

SKILLS:
, & ABILITIES: Considerable knowledge of wildlife habitat management principles, goals and objectives; wildlife species; life history and habitat needs; budgeting processes and record keeping systems; and conservation statutes and regulations as they relate to wildlife. Ability to communicate effectively; set goals and objectives; perform heavy physical labor and work outdoors for long periods of time; operate and maintain hand and power tools including chain saws, tractors and trucks; develop and maintain professional relations with a broad range of agencies and publics.
