Wildland Fire Dispatcher 1 will play a pivotal role in the Protection Division’s Wildland Fire Program, and dispatch work is often described as extremely satisfying and is fast paced. From taking the first phone report of a new fire to mobilizing crews, engines, and the support of fire suppression, dispatchers are never bored.
- Tracking aircraft, sending initial attack engines and helicopters to a new fire, tracking fire occurrence data, and providing weather and fire behavior forecasts and outlooks all require top-notch work from dispatchers.

Qualifications:
Two years of public contact
experience:
, which included gathering, relaying, and providing information to others and evaluating activities or incidents and determining an appropriate course of action. One year of this

General Duties: Communicate with people within and outside the organization, represent the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. Transmit, broadcast, control, and operate telecommunications systems. Observe, receive, and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources. Order resources within the organization’s IROC system.
