Job Description
Position Summary
This position will directly support and direct the Youth Conservation Corps crew at Prince William Forest Park with assistance from Park staff. Youth Conservation Corps is a summer employment program for local youth (ages 15-18) who work, earn and learn together doing outdoor conservation projects. The
majority of this work is performed outdoors, completing projects such as
- maintaining park signs, repairing park structures like board walks and picnic
tables; painting and staining; landscape and trail maintenance; and other duties as assigned.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with team members to complete outdoor hands-on projects; learn new skills in park maintenance; participate in career builder activities.
Marginal Duties
- Participate in environmental education learning activities; Complete feedback
surveys; Participate in professional development sessions like career panels and SMART Goal planning.
Required Qualifications:
Ability to perform manual, physical labor for up to 8 hours per day, exposed to the elements; Must be a minimum of 15 years of age, currently enrolled in high school or graduating senior; Must have the ability to legally work in the US; Must be able to complete SCA online onboarding new hire paperwork in a timely
manner
This SCA Position is authorized under the Public Land Corps Authority. All participants must be between the ages of 16 and 30, inclusive, or veterans age 35 or younger. Participants must also be a citizen or national of the United States or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States. Hours served can
be applied toward the Public Land Corps (PLC) hiring authority.
Preferred Qualifications:
Outdoor work experience a plus; Experience working in a team; Open to learning new skills and more about conservation.

Volunteer position - no pay provided by the SCA
