Job Description
Join our team as a Part-Time Recreation Attendant and help create a fun, safe,
and welcoming environment for all members and guests in our fitness center and
gymnasium! In this role, you will oversee the fitness center and sports
programs, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and excellent customer service. You'll
also assist with equipment cleaning and setup, provide facility tours, and help
maintain a well-kept environment.
This part time position works up to 18 hours/week with a pay rate of
$15.35/hour. A shift differential of $1.00 per hour is paid for all shifts
worked from 4:00 pm Friday through Sunday. The primary need is for individuals
to work a variety of shifts during operational hours (M-TH 5am-9pm, Fri 5am-8pm
and Saturday 6 am-6pm). The ability to work rotating Saturday shifts (typically
every 3rd Saturday) is required. If you love staying active, interacting with

SUMMARY/PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Recreation Attendant will be responsible for overseeing members and guests
as they participate in fitness and sports programs and activities in the fitness
center and gymnasium. The Recreation Attendant will be primarily responsible for
ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and dedicated customer service of the fitness
and sports areas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This job description should not be interpreted as all

- Proactively ensure a safe recreation environment for all Kroc Center staff,
volunteers, members and participants, enforce all safety and other rules and
regulations, and utilize systems to safeguard facilities, supplies, and
equipment.
- Project a friendly, customer-service oriented attitude, serving as an
ambassador for the customer-focused initiatives of the Kroc and actively
interacting with members and guests.
- Answer basic fitness, sports, and facility-related questions and aid members
and guests as necessary.
- Provide / assist with equipment setup and tear down for programs, and assist
with providing orientations and tours.
- Utilize systems for timely and accurate record keeping, including
statistical reports and other areas as directed.
- Ensure the attractive appearance, operational function, and general upkeep
of the fitness and sports facilities including equipment and furnishings,
and complete cleaning and preventative maintenance tasks in the fitness
center and gymnasium.
- Support promotional strategies to increase fitness programs attendance and
revenue.
QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old
- 1+ years of experience working with youth and adults in a sports and/or
recreation setting.
- OR -
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the
required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: First Aid, CPR and AED Certification for Adult,
Child, and Infant within 90 days of hire.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a self-motivated and self-directed schedule.
- Ability to address multiple projects in a timely manner while being
responsive and detail oriented.
- Ability to interact with co-workers and the public in a positive,
professional manner.
- Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
- Ability to work in a team setting with other professionals.
- Exercise good judgment in personal actions, personnel management, and
business matters.
- Strong computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office products, e-mail

The duties of this job will be performed in various settings within a community
center including a fitness center and gymnasium, where the noise level is
usually moderate to loud and conditions may be warmer and more humid than a
normal office environment.
For other duties of this job, such as outdoor special events and community
center activities, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent
at the time. The noise level in the work environment at these events is usually
moderate to loud.
This position requires the employee be available to work days, weeknights,
weekends, and holidays as required.
