JOB TITLE:
Outdoor Program Ski Technician
JOB PURPOSE:
As part of the campus recreation department, the Outdoor Program helps recruit and retain students, faculty and staff by providing a wide range of welcoming, safe, reasonably priced Outdoor Programs and services to the UW community. We expose individuals to the natural environment, provide skill and leadership
- development opportunities, facilitate interactions and fun, and are open to all.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a fleet of ~200 pairs of skis (Skate, Cross Country, Backcountry,
and Split boards) and ~200 bikes (Commuter, Mountain, and Fat bikes)
- Wax, tune, repair, and complete preventative maintenance on skis and bikes
throughout respective seasons
- Complete end of season maintenance and storage repairs for skis/bikes
- Clean and repair shop equipment as needed
- Assist with equipment inventory and organization
- Assist in general Outdoor Program gear repair
- Provide high-quality customer service for the Outdoor Program
- Work with Office Assistants to outfit participants with the appropriate
skis
- Assist patrons with ski repairs and teach tuning clinics
- Execute point of sale operations with accuracy
- Provide information on all Outdoor Program and Campus Recreation offerings
and services
- Create a physically and emotionally safe and inclusive environment within the
Outdoor Program
- Work effectively with other students and Program Coordinators
- Participate in staff meetings and complete required trainings
- Evaluate and assess your performance with Program Coordinators

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
University of Wyoming student.
Must have a willingness and excitement to learn ski and bike tech related skills and general gear repair.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience working on skis and bikes whether professionally or personally is preferred including waxing, edge work, tuning, derailleurs, tire maintenance.
