    ROLE DESCRIPTION:

    Instructional Faculty - Math This position offices in-person, on campus

    ROLE SUMMARY:

    An Instructional Faculty member in the Math Department at Valor Christian High School demonstrates strong competency across math curricula and collaborates closely with the Math team to design consistent assessments and deliver effective instruction. They prepare students to become Christ-centered leaders by integrating Biblical truth and Christian values into daily teaching. Faculty demonstrate a vibrant personal faith, love students well, and cultivate respectful, engaging classrooms that promote critical thinking, collaboration, and innovation. They also mentor students spiritually, emotionally, and academically through Life Groups, prayer partnerships, and co-curricular STEM opportunities, partnering with parents and colleagues to support holistic student growth and achievement.

    • Provide a learning environment and classroom management style built upon mutual respect and conducive to student learning

    Understand the curriculum of a wide range of Math courses (college preparatory, honors, AP, etc.)

    • Collaborate with the Math team to develop and deliver consistent assessments and sound instruction

    • Demonstrate a love for students and a desire to personally invest in their spiritual, emotional and social maturation

    Invest in the lives of students through Life Groups, senior prayer partners, co-curricular STEM programming and other mentorship opportunities Compassionately respond to the intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of each student Consistently partner and communicate with parents in the shared desire of student growth, spiritual development, and achievement

    RELATIONSHIPS:

    Math Department Chair and Math Team Director of STEM & Academic Development Academic Support Team Parents and Students Other Valor departments and team members as needed

    RESULTS:

    The Instructional Faculty member in Math will have successfully advanced students’ spiritual formation, college readiness, and cultural engagement by integrating Biblical truth with effective math instruction. Students will have experienced God’s love through daily interactions and grow confident in His purpose for their lives. They will have developed strong mathematical understanding and demonstrated college and career-ready competencies in communication, research, problem-solving, and discussion. The faculty member’s leadership will have fostered holistic student growth—spiritually, academically, and personally—within a Christ-centered learning environment.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a discipline closely related to the subjects to be taught Advanced Degree in a math-related area is preferred Solid biblical and theological foundation and understanding Desire to teach and/or experience within Christian education

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The same basic physical demands described here are the same for all employees to successfully perform the essential functions of their jobs. Employees must periodically lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and could occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral/depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.     WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    The work environment characteristics are varied and include classroom, office, and outdoor events while performing the essential functions of this job.
