Job Summary:
This role leads fleet and transportation safety by overseeing preventive maintenance, regulatory compliance, and emergency preparedness while fostering a strong safety-first culture. The position collaborates closely with maintenance teams, shop leadership, and external partners to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations that support employees, guests, and organizational goals.
The Details:
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round Pay: $73,000 annually depending upon experience
- Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities:
Champion a Safety-First Culture: Lead a proactive safety environment that prioritizes employee well-being, risk prevention, and open communication.
- Oversee Fleet Safety & Preventive Maintenance: Implement and manage preventive maintenance programs and safety inspections to ensure fleet reliability, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness.
- Ensure Regulatory & Contract Compliance: Support adherence to DOT, NPS, environmental, and collective bargaining agreement requirements through accurate records and consistent practices.
- Lead & Support Maintenance and Driver Teams: Foster collaboration among mechanics, drivers, shop foremen, and staff to efficiently prioritize work and meet safety and operational goals.
- Deliver Training, Emergency Preparedness & Incident Response: Provide ongoing safety training, lead incident investigations, and maintain clear emergency response protocols.
- Monitor Performance, Data & Continuous Improvement: Use fleet performance data, audits, and incident reviews to identify risks, improve processes, and enhance operational efficiency.
Promote Employee Engagement & Well-Being: Advocate for safe equipment, ergonomic practices, reasonable workloads, and a supportive, inclusive work environment.
- Provide Cross-Departmental Operational Support: Assist other departments as needed to maintain uninterrupted operations and respond to staffing or operational needs.
Qualifications:
Strong leadership qualities Excellent decision-making ability Excellent customer service skills with internal and external guests Verbal and written communication skills Organizational and time management skills Knowledge of vehicle repair and maintenance Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems is preferred
Knowledge of DOT regulations concerning the maintenance of commercial vehicles Knowledge of Yellowstone facilities and services Knowledge of Company policies and procedures
Physical Requirements include:
