    POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Crew member, you’ll get hands-on experience in everything from maintenance and programming to kitchen support and admin tasks. You’ll play a vital role in helping campers and staff have an unforgettable summer—all while building leadership, teamwork, and professional skills that will serve you for years to come.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Jump in and help across Administration, Maintenance, Programming, and Kitchen operations. Team up with activity specialists and directors to support camp programs and events. Live in a cabin with youth while Helping supervise youth during activities, cabin time and lend a hand to staff where needed.

    • Contribute to a positive, energetic camp community where everyone belongs.

    Take on additional projects or duties as assigned by the director (because teamwork makes the dream work!).

    Requirements:

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Must be 17 years or older. A positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a passion for the YMCA mission A willingness to learn new skills and take on challenges. Willingness to earn or hold First Aid, CPR, or Lifeguard certifications (we’ll help train you!). A sense of humor, a love of the outdoors, and a desire to make a real impact.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Being part of the Crew means staying active and ready for anything! You’ll need to:

    See, hear, and speak clearly for safety and communication. Lift up to 50 lbs as needed. Be in good physical health, able to bend, climb, walk, and work outdoors in all kinds of weather. Understand and follow both written and verbal directions. Be comfortable working at heights and around water.

    YMCA SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

    CPR & First Aid – Must be able to complete and maintain certification in CPR and First Aid; able to assist individuals in need until professional help arrives. Emergency Response – Ability to quickly identify emergency situations (medical, fire, environmental, etc.) and respond appropriately following established procedures.

    Incident Management – Required to report all safety incidents and hazards immediately and accurately to supervisors. Safe Environment – Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and hazard-free environment for all staff, members, and participants. Physical Readiness – Must be able to perform physical tasks related to safety, including assisting individuals of various ages and physical abilities.

    Compliance – Follow all YMCA safety protocols, OSHA standards, and state/local regulations as applicable.
