Position Summary:
Junior Camp Counselors are members of our Teen Leadership Program who support Overnight Camp Counselors in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging summer camp experience for all youth. Junior Camp Counselors learn foundational counselor skills while assisting with daily supervision, program facilitation,
and camper support. They are active participants in camp life, attend workshops, and model a positive attitude in all camp activities.
SALARY RANGE: $565/Week
This position is seasonal and will work one of two sessions.
Session 1: June 7-July 3
Session 2: July 5-July 31
Essential Functions:
- Support Overnight Camp Counselors in supervising campers during activities,
transitions, meals, and cabin routines.
- Follow established procedures for camper supervision, health, and safety;
- help maintain cleanliness and organization in program areas.
- Identify and report potential risks or safety concerns to supervising staff.
- Participate in planning and leading age‑appropriate activities, including
evening programs and campfires.
- Attend and actively engage in all required Teen Leadership Program workshops,
- trainings, and meetings.
- Assist with attendance, activity setup, and general program support as
directed by Overnight Camp Counselors or leadership staff.
- Participate fully in camp activities, contributing to a fun, inclusive, and
community‑focused camp environment.
- Complete all required paperwork and assignments on time.
- Perform other duties assigned by camp leadership.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
- Prior camp experience (as a camper, LIT or CIT) preferred.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow directions, accept feedback, and demonstrate good judgment.
- Positive attitude, enthusiasm for working with youth, and desire to grow as a
- leader.
