We are looking for team members who are level-headed in all situations, cooperative with fellow team members, and enthusiastic about working with children and young adults in an active indoor/outdoor camp environment.

Experience with children is preferred. Come work with our campers at Camp Edey in Bayport, NY. We offer programs for campers ages 5-15, including a sleepaway camp experience.

Summer Camp 2025

Camp Edey is located on 95 acres on the beautiful San Souci lakes in Bayport and has been home to amazing Girl Scout outdoor experiences for over 75 years. Our camp has two pools, an archery range, a gaga ball pit, a disc golf course, hiking trails, and a frog-friendly pond. Our summer camp program includes things our campers love-like scavenger hunts, outdoor sports, unique weekly themes, and STEM + Art activities in a safe and fun environment that fosters her sense of adventure. For Girls Only, Grades 1-9 in Fall 2024

  • Dates: June 30- August 29, 9 Weekly Sessions (Week 1 is 4 days only due to Independence Day)
  • Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Salary: $120 per day, and Lunch is included.

*Mandatory Team Training will be on June 24, 25, and 27.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for working with the Co-Counselor to coordinate unit/small group programs and participation in all camp activities.
  • Supervises a group of a designated number of campers.
  • Adheres to the assigned group schedule; ensures that campers are on time for the day's activities/programs.
  • Works cooperatively with the Co-Counselor for unit responsibilities/ assignments
  • Maintains health and safety standards for campers, unit/small group staff, and self.
  • Reports accidents and files incident reports promptly
  • Keeps records and prepares written reports as requested.
  • Maintains professional camper/staff relationships throughout the camp season.
  • Participates in opening and closing procedures of the camp season.
  • Keeps the Director informed of activities, problems, and concerns with campers on an ongoing basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.
