About the Opportunity:
A rapidly growing direct-to-consumer (DTC) manufacturer of premium consumer products in the outdoor industry is seeking an experienced operations leader to step in as Chief Operating Officer (COO). This confidential search is for a founder-led company looking to bring in mature, strategic leadership to run daily operations and help scale the business to the next level.
This is a critical leadership hire — ideal for someone who’s served as a Director of Operations, VP of Operations, GM, or early-stage COO, and is ready to take full ownership of operational excellence and team leadership.
What You’ll Own:
- Lead all internal operations — including production, supply chain, fulfillment, and customer experience
- Implement systems and processes to improve performance, efficiency, and profitability
- Serve as a trusted partner to the CEO and help translate vision into execution
- Provide strong leadership to a growing team, mentoring department leads and setting performance expectations
- Bring stability and structure to a family-run business navigating its next phase of growth
Ideal Background:
- 8+ years of operational leadership experience in a manufacturing, consumer product, or DTC environment
- Experience scaling an early-stage company or running day-to-day operations in a founder-led business
- Experience in implementing EOS (entrepreneurial operating system)
- Demonstrated success in team building, change management, and process optimization
- High EQ and maturity — someone who can lead in complex environments and unify a team
- Passion for product, consumer experience, and hands-on leadership
- Must be based in (or willing to relocate to) the Salt Lake City area — this is an on-site role
Compensation:
- Competitive base salary ($130K–$175K DOE)
- Performance-based bonus structure
- Long-term upside through stock appreciation rights or future equity tied to growth milestones
