Position Overview
Responsible for providing a safe, fun, educational and engaging challenge course and climbing experience at The Summit.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engaging challenge course facilitation
- Become thoroughly familiar with all the information related to the challenge course
- Ensure proper use, security, and care of program equipment
- Assist with tasks to maintain the facilities of the overall challenge course program facilities
- Use all safety equipment mandated in your program venue effectively and properly
- Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
- Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
- Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
- Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook
Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18+
- Must be able to complete lead Facilitator Training (provided)
- Comfortable at heights of 6' to 180' and weight between 50-250 for equipment manufacturer standards
- Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
Physical & Practical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 65 pounds
- Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
- Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55
