Location: Golden Gate National Recreation Area, San Francisco, CA
Golden Gate National Recreation Area encompasses multiple park sites such as Muir Woods National Monument, Alcatraz Island, Marin Headlands, Fort Point National Historic Site, and Crissy Field within the Presidio of San Francisco. This park unit hosts 19 distinct ecosystems, 2000 plant and animal species, and offers a dynamic cultural history for visitors to learn about and explore.

Position Overview: You will work side-by-side with National Park Service Rangers to deliver K-12 education programs that involve students in meaningful and engaging learning opportunities in the sciences and social studies at Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA). Selected members will be stationed throughout different sites at Golden Gate such as Alcatraz Island, Fort Point National Historic Site, Marin Headlands, Presidio of San Francisco, and Muir Woods National Monument.

Scheduling: Full time position β 40 hours week, Tuesday- Saturday; time- off is available during school breaks as arranged by supervisor.
Position Benefits
Living Allowance: The ACE Member is expected to contribute 40 hours/week and will receive a living allowance of $550/week to offset the costs of food and incidental expenses, dispersed bi-weekly.
Reimbursements: $100 to cover additional Background Check and Travel/Toll Reimbursement.
AmeriCorps Education Award Program: This position may be eligible for a 675-hour AmeriCorps Education Award. For the previous grant year this was valued at $2,472.27 upon successful completion of a complete service term and 675 hours. The new award amount will be updated when that information is released.
Housing: ACE members will be accommodated in provided shared housing at no cost for the duration of the term.
Provided Training/Orientation: ACE members will receive position specific training and an orientation outlining ACE policies and procedures, clear guidance on prohibited activities, networks for support, and Education Program and classroom management training.

Physical Demands, Work Environment and Working Conditions:
Environmental Conditions/Hazards: The ACE member(s) may encounter environmental conditions/hazards including extreme heat or cold, rocky terrain, swamp or wetland conditions, biting insects, and potentially dangerous wildlife. The member is expected to conduct duties in a safe and orderly manner so as not to endanger self, fellow staff/members or resources.
Vehicle and Equipment Use/Safety: A personal vehicle is required to get to and from work and during non working hours. The Member may be responsible for their own private transportation and commuting expenses to their duty station.
Any tools required for the accomplishment of the duties will be provided by the NPS. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), typically provided by the NPS, will be mandatory for any activity that requires it. Strict adherence to NPS and ACE equipment training, certification and safety protocols is required.
