Hulopoe Beach Park Ranger
Pulama LanaiAssists with monitoring Hulopoe Beach Park grounds. Responsible for the general maintenance and overall cleanliness and appearance of the Beach Park. .
This position is for our Overnight shift - must be able to work the 10:30pm to 7:00am shift.
Compensation:
$23.02/hour (non-exempt)

Reports to: Hulopo’e Beach Park Manager
Supervises: n/a

Responsibilities
Essential Duties
- Issues camping permits.
- Ensures that campers have the required permits and are abiding by community and private Beach Park regulations, along with any federal, state, and county laws.
- Patrols camp sites, beach areas, trails, and other areas within the Beach Park via foot and/or other means of transportation.
- Monitors the Beach Park and outlying areas for safety.
- Maintains and ensures general cleanliness of the Beach Park, including all restroom facilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- At least 1 to 2 years of experience working in a recreational and/or customer service operation, preferred.
- Requires excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
- Requires relating to people in a friendly and professional manner.
- Requires working to the established procedures and maintaining reliable work attendance.
- Requires the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Able to think and make effective decisions quickly.
- Ability to create effective working relationships with people.
- Must be able to maintain a positive attitude and work under pressure.
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines in a timely fashion.
- Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Current First Aid/CPR Certification preferred.
- Valid Hawaii Driver’s License and successful review of Motor Vehicle Record
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

- Must be able to work for sustained periods of time while maintaining concentrated attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a noisy environment, in dim lights, and hot/cold temperatures.
