This position is responsible for maintaining Seminole County Parks. This may include activities such as performing general maintenance such as litter pickup, sweeping and stocking of restrooms, painting, fence repair and dock repair and maintenance. You will provide information to Team Leader on potential problems and disseminate information to campers. May assist in campground public relations, educational activities, and special events/activities, site inspections, coordination with Sheriff on law enforcement issues, public relations, data collection and mapping.
**Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description.

Performs maintenance, operations, and security at all Seminole County Passive Parks, Boat ramps and Trailhead locations with specific emphasis on both Lake Mills Park, Mullet Lake Park Campgrounds.
Monitors the campgrounds for hazards, and unregistered guests, and disseminate information to management or the Sheriff’s Department as needed.
Conducts patrols of the parks to ensure visitor safety, observe suspicious persons, hazardous conditions, detour depreciative behavior, and report any significant activity to the appropriate agencies, enforce park rules and fire and safety codes, assisting when needed.
Responsible for customer service and creating a positive memorable guest experience.
Performs light maintenance work around the park system such as litter pickup, waste receptacle care, restroom cleaning/ stocking, and light landscaping.
Coordinates with Seminole County Sheriff on issues such as trespassing, poaching, and other illegal activities within Trails, Campgrounds, and Parks property.
Requires high school diploma or GED and two (2) years of related experience with natural resources and/or Parks and Recreation preferred or a similar field.
A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.
A willingness to help and be helpful, a passion for the type of work, and an understanding of what it takes to ensure a positive visitor experience and for carrying out the duties as efficiently as possible
Excellent communication skills and a strong knowledge of Florida geography, experience with GPS/GIS, 4wd vehicles, ATV, chainsaws, and other field equipment preferred.
Ability to work effectively with other County, municipal and State agencies, and the public.
Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Performs additional duties as required.
