The Performance Media Team is looking for a skilled marketing / SEM professional to join our growing team as a Performance Media Strategist. This role is based at our corporate headquarters in Freeport, Maine. Working remotely may also be acceptable.

This position includes responsibility for managing & optimizing L.L.Bean's paid search marketing program and product data feeds, while also collaborating with internal/external partners to unlock opportunities across our digital marketing programs. While this is the initial vision of the role, the responsibilities may evolve based on the skills the right candidate brings to the role.

This is a highly visible role supporting the digital marketing programs which enable our industry-leading direct advertising campaigns that drive significant revenue and buyers for the company. Additional responsibilities include reporting, program analysis/management, financial reconciliation, and support across marketing campaigns. This role will work closely with Performance Media program owners to drive cross-channel learnings, creating an additional area of opportunity for the right candidate.


Responsibilities:

  • Ensure effective day-to-day management, optimization, and longer-term strategies of performance media programs and data feeds with the ability to plan, implement, analyze, and optimize quickly and efficiently with minimal guidance

  • Support domestic direct response marketing campaigns

  • Analyze campaign performance relative to financial goals

  • Can perform daily campaign optimization and make informed bidding decisions

  • Create, update, and socialize iterative program testing agenda

  • Develop and maintain reports and campaign summaries for broad consumption across the marketing department and senior leadership

  • Inform and educate partners across Marketing, IS, Analytics, Creative, Merch, Supply Chain, etc. on insights and opportunities as learnings are developed

  • Develop and foster relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including platform and feed vendors to drive program performance improvements

  • Seek out opportunities and stay current on all relevant partner product updates (both functionality and new formats), best practices, and road maps

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, LLB leaders, and with our platform partners (Google, Meta, Microsoft, etc.) to drive updates and improvements to media programs

Health and Safety Requirement: Ensures compliance with the L.L.Bean Comprehensive Health and Safety program by knowing and following all safety guidelines, policies, procedures and expectations. Take immediate and appropriate action to rectify any unsafe conditions. Ensure compliance of front-line employees with comprehensive health and safety program.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of direct-to-consumer performance media experience, such as feeds, ad tech, marketing operations, paid search, paid social, display, and affiliates preferred

  • Ability to plan and execute large-scale digital marketing campaigns

  • Firm grasp on digital marketing theories, techniques, and strategies

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and develop action plans

  • Comfortable extracting compelling performance insights and summaries from complex data sets

  • Experience preferred in product data feeds management, marketing operations & technology, Excel, Google Ads, Google Merchant Center, and site analytics tools such as GA4

  • Experience running omni-channel direct response campaigns / Paid Search programs a plus

  • Familiarity with CRM tools used to connect first party data to marketing platforms (e.g. LiveRamp)

  • Strong bias for action – ability and drive to take ideas from conception to execution with minimal oversight

  • Resourceful and self-motivated approach to work, with an interest in learning and growing professionally at L.L.Bean

  • Exceptional attention to detail, thorough, analytical, and independent

  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written

  • Proactive and positive team player

Education: BA/BS or equivalent

Experience: 2-4 years preferred
