Location: Death Valley, California
Stovepipe Wells in Death Valley National Park - Journey Beyond the Ordinary. Stovepipe Wells has an 80-room hotel, restaurant, bar, pool, gas station, general store, and gift shop.Β Stovepipe is a welcoming, safe, and environmentally responsible resort providing accommodations and services inside Death Valley National Park. Over the next few years, the resort will undergo upgrades to rejuvenate accommodations and dining for public enjoyment.Β POWDR operates Stovepipe Wells under a long-term concession contract with the National Park Service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet guests, offers to help, answers questions, and communicates knowledgably about menu and drink items, pricing, hours and availability at each food and beverage service location at the property.
- Stock and store supplies, tableware, refrigerated and frozen items, comment cards, etc. as designated.
- Maintain an organized and clean F&B counter, areas for preparation, common areas, and storage.
- Complete F&B checklists, handwashing, cleaning, and sanitizing protocols.
- Wear gloves, with consistency and in line with food heath safety standards.
- Complete all food safety training to ensure compliance is current.
- Exercise diligence for food safety processes and participate in audits and corrective actions, as directed by leadership.
- Answer any guestsβ questions; is friendly and accommodating.
- Arrive to work dressed in a clean, pressed and complete uniform with nametag.
- Always wear clean, proper footwear.
- Be helpful and professional with coworkers, respectfully start and end shifts on time, and leave the stations clean, organized, sanitized and prepared for the following shift.
- Exercise diligence and accountability with POS payments, transactions, order accuracy, providing receipts, running sales and inventory reports, proper Cash Handling procedures, and teamwork. Other Duties as Assigned:
- Due to the in-person nature of the hospitality business, this position is on-site. Housing will be provided on-site.
- A flexible schedule with commuting from Pahrump, Beatty or Las Vegas will be considered.
- Due to the nature of our business, Stovepipe Wells Village is open every day. You must be prepared to work a schedule which may include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Able to work and thrive in Death Valley National Park.
- Ability to follow Bartender and F&B requirements and compliance with our concessions contract.
- Ability to get along well with people, be honest, punctual and reliable.
- Ability to remain calm and friendly.
- Ability to physically work as a Restaurant Staff member.
- Ability to adapt to changing work conditions.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Current CA Food Handlers Certification Card required
- TIPs or Responsible Beverage Service equivalent required β’ Minimum 2 years food and beverage experience required.
- Current CPR w/AED and First Aid medical certification is required, and certification is provided on-the-job upon hire
