Position Summary: The Ski Patrol Supervisor works directly with Patrol management to oversee and supervise daily and ongoing goals of the Ski Patrol Department. Duties include, but are not limited to: daily patrol operations, oversee duty station staffing, manage daily work projects and tasks, manage incident response and investigation needs, oversee employee development and training, conduct mid-season employee reviews and counseling, assist with scheduling, payroll, and community outreach.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
Daily Trail Checks and Sweeps, and knowledge of terrain status. Capable of prepping and opening new terrain.
Snowmobile pre-op checks and patrol equipment daily checks.
Duty station staffing, cleanliness, tasks and equipment.
Ensures high quality performance from patrol members and encourages positive team culture.
Manage daily work priorities and monitors on-hill risk management.
Reviews Incident Reports and holds employees accountable for their work.
Assist with scheduling, payroll, training and conducts employee mid-season performance reviews and provides on-going feedback.
Active participant on Patrol Skills Teams & can act as Avalanche Mitigation Team Leader.
Act as senior patrol leadership in the absence of Patrol Director / Asst. Director and make management leadership decisions in consultation with Eldora Management.
Ability and experience identifying and investigating high risk incidents.
Maintain knowledge of all incidents and communicate with Director on investigation needs.
Leads by example for all company safety policies and procedures, actively contributing to a safe working environment for self, coworkers, and guests.

Must be able to work weekends and holidays as required by resort operations.

Specific Job Skills:
High school degree or equivalent.
Minimum age: 21 years old.
Valid Driver’s License & the ability to pass MVR check to company’s standards.
Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a criminal background check will be conducted after position is accepted. This background check will be done in accordance with standards enacted under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Preferred Skills:
EMT-B or NSP OEC certification- Required
Advanced skiing or snowboarding ability (must pass on-mountain ski/ride test) – Required
Must provide personal ski/ride equipment - Required
Must be fluent in English language (Spoken and written) - Required
Must have sight, speech, and hearing abilities sufficient to learn skills, follow and provide directions – Required
Three seasons ski patrol experience- Preferred
Colorado Blasters License- Preferred
Avalanche Pro 1-Preferred
Previous resort experience – Preferred
Local knowledge of Eldora and surrounding area– Preferred
De-escalation / conflict resolution skills – Preferred
Physical Demands:
Bending, reaching, climbing, pushing, pulling & prolonged standing.
Must be able to stand, kneel, squat, and work in inclement weather in a high alpine environment for long periods of time.
Eye/hand coordination & visual concentration on equipment.
Concentrated reading and writing.
Must be able to lift and carry items up to 75 lbs.
Variation in temperature from hot to cold.
Be able to work on the mountain, which consists of being primarily outside and requires prolonged periods of standing and walking on slippery and/or uneven snow or icy surfaces.

Training, disciplinary actions & performance reviews
Schedule:
Non-Peak Days (M-F): 7:30am-5pm
Peak Days (Sa/Sun/Holidays): 7am-5pm
This schedule represents an average work week and is subject to change based on guest volume, operational needs, and weather conditions.
Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $30+ actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
Benefits: This is a seasonal position eligible for season pass for employees/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available. Additionally, this position accumulates sick time.
