Summer Camp Counselor

Join our team as a YMCA Camp Counselor and spend your summer making a positive impact! You will be responsible for actively supervising and ensuring the safety of campers while fostering an engaging, inclusive, and fun environment. With your enthusiasm and leadership, you'll guide daily activities, promote teamwork, and create memorable experiences for children ages 4-12.  

Duties: 

• Supervise and ensure the safety of campers throughout daily activities and at all times during camp. 

• Plan and lead engaging activities that are age-appropriate, fun, and aligned with camp goals and values. 

• Promote positive behavior by modeling positive behavior, managing camper behavior, resolving conflicts, and encouraging respect and teamwork. 

• Build relationships with campers by fostering a supportive, inclusive, and fun environment that promotes personal growth and development.

• Communicate with staff about camper progress, concerns, and daily activities to ensure a positive camp experience. 

Qualifications: 

• Must be 16 years of age. 
• Enthusiasm, patience, and a positive attitude to engage children in activities, support their development, and create a fun and safe camp experience. 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Previous experience working with children of any age group. +

Schedule: 

• Monday – Friday from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM 

• 9-week summer camp starting June 30th (flexible with weeks). 

• Must arrive early for training and wait for all kids to be picked up.
