Copper Mountain Resort is a vacation destination located 75 miles west of Denver, Colorado in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Three vibrant, pedestrian-friendly village areas host lodging, retail outlets, restaurants, bars, and family activities. During the winter months, Copper's world-class terrain offers skiing and riding for all ages and abilities. Each summer, the mountain transforms into a playground for hikers, mountain bikers, and anyone seeking a genuine Colorado experience. Copper Mountain Resort is also home to Woodward Copper action-sports camps, programs, and training facility.

Volunteer Summary:
Volunteer to help prepare terrain for opening to the general public. In most cases, volunteers will be volunteering in closed avalanche terrain alongside patrol, although in some cases terrain prep will include front-side, non-avalanche terrain. Through dedication, seven 8 hour days will earn you a season pass. Help create memories for our guests again and again.

Hydrant Pad
Various other trail maintenance assignments/projects

This volunteer description is an overview of the scope of responsibilities for this volunteer and is not intended to be an inclusive list of volunteer tasks and expectations. Functions as an ambassador of Copper Mountain, modeling and sharing the Copper "culture" with our guests and employees. Upholds the most professional image. Continually strives to exceed our guest's expectations and create memories for our guests and staff.

Basic Requirements:
Must have advanced or expert skiing skills (skiers only)
Must be in good physical condition and able to volunteer in a cold alpine environment on steep double-black diamond terrain wearing ski boots in mixed snow surfaces.
Must sign volunteer paperwork prior to completing any volunteering.
Must be able to follow all volunteer policies as described in the handbook.
Must provide all necessary personal clothing and equipment to do the volunteer position efficiently.
Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds
Must have an avalanche beacon, shovel, and probe as well as releasable ski bindings.
Must have sufficient time to complete a 7 day obligation in 2 months. Bootpacking begins usually around November 7th and is generally wrapped up by mid-January, but start dates are weather and snow dependent.
Must be at least 18 years old
