This position is based in Hall County with potential work assignments at the following locations:
- Teen Center
- Positive Place
- Fair Street International Academy
- New Holland Knowledge Academy
- Joseph F. Walters Club
- Tadmore Elementary School
- Chicopee Woods Elementary School
Summer Camp Dates: June 1, 2026 to July 17, 2026
Work Hours:
Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00PM *Please note that hours may vary.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Our Summer Program kicks off on June 1, 2026, and we are looking for extraordinary Summer Youth Development Professionals to join our team. This position is made for individuals who are passionate about working with youth and are ready to make a lasting impact during the summer months. As the Summer Youth Development Professional, you will have the exciting opportunity to work closely with the youth, ensuring their growth and development in a safe and engaging environment. The person who fills this position will also be responsible for the items listed below and will work under the direction of the Club Director.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
- Plans, implements, supervises and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area, such as Education & Career Development, The Arts, Sports, Fitness & Recreation, Health & Life Skills, Character & Leadership Development and Specialized Initiatives.
KEY ROLES and ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Create an environment that promotes and stimulates program participation.
- Register new members and participate in their club orientation.
- Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
- Effectively implement and administer programs, services, and activities for members as directed by program guidelines and expectations.
- Monitor services and activities to ensure the safety of members and maintain the appearance of the facility at all times.
- Prepare reports as directed.
- Ensure a productive work environment by participating in weekly staff meetings.
- Ensure continual evaluation of the programs and ensure programs/activities respond to members needs.
- May participate in special programs or events.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
* Combined experience and/or formal training equivalent to minimum of 2 years where:
- Experience in working with youth and knowledge of youth development
- Formal training, education in youth development
Skills:
- Knowledge of youth development
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems and problem solve.
- Ability to deal with the public.
- Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
- Knowledge of computer and data entry.
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Valid State Driver's License
- Must be available 7:30AM to 5:30PM Monday through Friday. (Shifts may vary)
ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Daily contact with club staff, club and teen center members, outside organizations and individuals to plan, coordinate and deliver programs. Normal internal office environment. Travel to special events and field trips may be required. Must be able to work daily afternoons/evening hours. The job requires the ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing more than 25lbs. Outdoor work and moderate physically demanding activities may be required on occasion.
