The hiring range for this position is $24.35 - $30.43/hourly This job announcement is scheduled to close January 11, 2026. The City of Aurora will conduct ongoing screenings of applications on a first come-first serve basis; as soon as we determine to have a qualified pool of applicants, this position may close quickly and without notice.
This is classified as VHNE (Variable Hour Non-Benefit Employee), where the selected candidate will work less than 29 hours per week. This position does not provide medical

OVERVIEW OF POSITION / DEPARTMENT The Water Conservation Program Specialist – Field Team position promotes and educates customers in water conservation methods through customer interactions created by enforcing watering restrictions set by the Water Management Plan, continuous flow and high-use outreach and investigations, and data synthesis to determine outreach methods best suited for the situation.
This position requires a high level of customer service and the ability to interact with various customers. This exciting position provides the

PRIMARY DUTIES &:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Advocates water conservation by educating customers through outreach efforts Contacts customers, homeowner’s associations, and contractors regarding water use issues Seeks compliance of City of Aurora codes in regards to waste of water Maintains patrols of the City looking for violations and responding to complaints that have been received on water waste Engage customers utilizing AMI data to correct high-use and continuous flow events Enforces watering restrictions set by the Water Management Plan of the Water Department Maintains records and prepares reports on customer interactions Assists with residential irrigation and soil inspections Performs other duties as assigned This job

Physical Demands: Moderate to heavy physical work depending upon the assigned function Infrequently performs medium physical work that involves moving no more than 50 pounds with or without assistance at a time Frequently performs activities requiring a full range of body movement including bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
