    You will be trusted to:

    • Implement habitat and land management actions like brush control, native

    vegetation restoration, invasive species reduction, and road/trail fuel break maintenance. You'll also collect field data to assess outcomes.

    • Conduct wildlife management tasks such as population surveys, deer harvests,

    and feral hog monitoring.

    • Assist with prescribed burns, ensuring safety and coordination with local fire

    authorities.

    • Operate and maintain heavy equipment like skid steers, tractors, and forestry

    mulchers safely.

    • Enhance community engagement by participating in, and potentially presenting

    at, regional field days and workshops.

    • Adhere to safety protocols, maintaining certifications, and completing

    required reports.

    You qualify with:

    • Four or more years of experience in natural resource management or other

    relevant experience. A degree(s) in agriculture, natural resource management, range management, wildlife management or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.

    • Driver's license

    - For incumbents who volunteer to participate in prescribed burning activities:

    NWCG Single Resource Boss Qualification or higher

    • Class A Texas commercial driver’s license or equivalent from another state,

    for incumbents performing heavy equipment operation

    • Active Texas handgun license and active Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPWD)

    hunting license required for duties relating to wildlife management with a firearm

    You are a great fit with:

    • Proficiency in field data collection and GPS/mapping technology
    • Experience in land/habitat management, including prescribed fire, heavy

    machinery operation, and regulated deer harvesting.

    • Experience with safe and responsible firearm handling
    • Effective communication skills
