The Department of Technology, Art & Design offers a variety of programs that span the application of technology, art and design in response to a range of human wants and needs.

Responsibilities:

of the Assistant/Associate Professor of Technology, Art & Design include: Teach courses within our cross-disciplinary Technology, Art & Design curriculum. The incumbent would be expected to teach courses that include, but are not limited to Design Foundations, Drawing Foundations, Graphic Design, Exhibit & Experiential Design, Event Planning, Interactive Design, Design Software, and Integration of AI.

• Contribute to a program of scholarship within the discipline, student advising, service to the University and community, and other associated faculty duties, including development of curricula, student travel and conferences.

This is an on-campus, in-person position.

• Demonstrated ability to engage with AI tools critically and creatively without reliance on them as a substitute for core design thinking, and to implement teaching strategies that address appropriate, ethical, and pedagogically sound student use.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary teaching and involvement in activities that support Bemidji State University's signature themes: Environmental stewardship, Civic engagement, Global/Multicultural Understanding.
